Annual Spring Meeting
Friday April 27, 2012
Macy Center, New Mexico Tech, Socorro, NM

Abstract Deadline: Friday Feb. 17

Every spring, the Society holds a meeting in Socorro to allow presentation of geoscience research from New Mexico and adjacent areas. This event is always well attended and is a great way to meet other researchers and students working in New Mexico. During the meeting luncheon, several Society scholarships are awarded to students from New Mexico.

Student participation is highly encouraged as this meeting provides an excellent venue for student presentations. Oral and poster sessions will focus on the geology, hydrology, stratigraphy, paleontology, and geophysics of New Mexico and adjacent areas.  Abstracts are solicited from all geoscience disciplines.

Preliminary Program Available

Call For Papers (Abstract Deadline PAST)

Our theme session will explore the dynamics of continental sedimentary basins, including tectonism and climate, with a focus on how sedimentary successions develop and are preserved in the rock record.

Other sessions will include a Geochemistry/Hydrology session, a Tectonics/Volcanics session and a general potpourri session which will include sedimentology presentations not included in the theme session, as well as paleontology, mineralogy and other concepts. Please specify in your e-mail message if you would like to present your work orally or as a poster presentation.
