Fall Field Conference Guidebooks
Since 1950, the New Mexico Geological Society has held an annual Fall Field Conference that visits some region of New Mexico (or surrounding states). Always well attended, these conferences provide a guidebook to participants. Besides detailed road logs, the guidebooks contain many well written, edited, and peer-reviewed papers. These books have set the national standard for geologic guidebooks and are an important reference for anyone working in or around New Mexico.
Most guidebooks are softcover. Since 2007 (starting with Guidebook #58), spiral-bound roadlog-only versions of the guidebooks are also available. Prices for several guidebooks have been reduced to $5.00 each and you may also purchase guidebooks as part of a complete set of all NMGS publications at a significant discount.
Free Downloads
Peer-reviewed papers (also called "articles" in some early volumes) are available as free PDF downloads to the public. However, road logs, mini-papers, and other selected sections will remain available only in print.
