Fall Field Conference Guidebooks
Since 1950, the New Mexico Geological Society has held an annual Fall Field Conference that visits some region of New Mexico (or surrounding states). Always well attended, these conferences provide a guidebook to participants. Besides detailed road logs, the guidebooks contain many well written, edited, and peer-reviewed papers. These books have set the national standard for geologic guidebooks and are an important reference for anyone working in or around New Mexico.
Most guidebooks are available in softcover only while some are available in hardcover only. Since 2007 (starting with Guidebook #58), spiral-bound roadlog-only versions of the guidebooks are also available.
Papers from all but our two most recent guidebooks are available as free PDF downloads to the public. NMGS Members, when logged in, will have access to all guidebook papers. Road logs, mini-papers, and other selected sections will remain available only in print.
You may also purchase a complete set of all NMGS publications at a significant discount. Prices for several guidebooks have been reduced to $5.00 each.
