Data Repository: HELP

Overview

Our data repository allows authors to include extra content, like analytical results, that would take too much room in a printed publication. Content in a repository should be considered as an integral part of a peer-reviewed published work. As such, it will only be revised or added to in consultation with the editor and generally only for typographic or formatting errors.

A specific data repository will provide a link to the published work it is part of as well as a recommended citation. Generally, a repository description and a Readme.txt file will be provided to indicate what the contents of the repository are and what software is required for reading those files. Repository files can be of any format, but we encourage authors to use formats that do not require expensive or commercial proprietary sofware. In the event that commercial software is necessary for a particular dataset, authors may be able to provide a PDF file or text based version suitable for broader access.
