This week, the New Mexico Geological Society (NMGS) was awarded the 2024 "Outstanding Geologic Field Trip Guidebook Series" award from the Geoscience Information Society for our Fall Field Conference (FFC) Guidebook Series, currently in its 74th volume. Many of us in the Society know that these guidebooks are an invaluable repository for New Mexican geological information; and many scientists at regional and national meetings agree. Five NMGS FFC Guidebooks (1989, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2013) previously have been awarded the GSIS's "Best Guidebook" award. Congratulations to the scores of New Mexican geologists whose hard work, dedication, and expertise have made our Fall Field Conference Guidebooks the incredible resource that they have come to be.
