Permian and Mesozoic rocks near Capitan and Fort Stanton. Supplemental road log
— Geoffrey Rawling

Summary:

This supplemental road log visits several outcrops of Permian and Mesozoic rocks on and near the Fort Stanton Area of Critical Environmental Concern east of Capitan. These are some of the best exposures of these rocks in the eastern Sierra Blanca Basin. Stops 2, 3, and 4 feature short hikes away from the road, so bring a backpack, water, and hiking boots.

Note: Full-text Fall Field Conference road logs for recent guidebooks are only available in print.
